Open the paper..all u find is protest for something. Even if their bulb doesn't glow or the whole city experiences power cut there is a protest. At one end it is the best way to get those lazy bureaucrats to get off their seat n do some work but at the other...protesting for every damn li'l thing jus to gain some publicity is seriously annoying !
The one main reason for ppl taking up to protest is the media. Tonnes of 24x7 news channels that dont know what to telecast 24x7, half of wich is taken up by re-telecasts. Those poor fellas want some nonsense to fill in their newscast. so they start showing whatever nonsense occurs ! Dats how dey telecast even protests that hav no base , point nor future ! All u hav to do to get ur face on TV is to hav 10 ppl around u and some cause...for eg. if ur dog ran away..and u can't find it u can gather ur neighbors n fight sayin der's no protection for dogs and dat d govt is so horrible that they can't find ur missing dog. It's upto ur talent to make an issue :) Voila..and thats all u need. May be a hungry reporter who can shoot ur protest n think of getting something out of it !
But on the other hand, I find it soooo awesome to see ppl of India getting united for a major cause. Tht actually needs some protest. Though Anna Hazare's protests dese days r like a usual page filler (tht i never care) in d newspapers with his self-contradicting statements, in the beginning he showed how youth can unite for a great cause of eliminating corruption. If he can do it, I guess a right leader can march youth towards development !!
Secondly the protest for the justice for woman after the Delhi rape case !! Shows how youth can tolerate pressure from the Govt. side to fight for a noble cause ! It's overwhelming to see Indian Youth like this. They r nation's pride indeed !!
Oly if we could channel this fire in youth properly...India will definitely reach the pinnacle ! Keeping fingers crossed :) Jai ho ! And pls... don't take my advice on protesting if ur dog ran away !! and similar cases :D
